“Tokugawa Chakai” Tea Ceremony

Every autumn, the Tokugawa Art Museum holds “Tokugawa Chakai” tea ceremony events at the teahouses adjoining the museum building. The ceremonies are held in the usu-cha-seki (thin tea gathering), koi-cha-seki (thick tea gathering), and tenshin-seki (meal gathering). In addition, masterpieces of tea ceremony implements are on display. To participate in the “Tokugawa Chakai” Tea Ceremony, a reservation must be made in advance. The admission fee (including tea ceremony fees and museum admission fee) is 19,000 yen, and the course will take about 3 hours.
